Here is a fix I found that works.

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
Click on the Windows icon, type cmd, right click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.

2. Identify Cause
Our example shows the following when we type:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg -waketimers
Timer set by [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Windows\System32\svchost.exe (SystemEventsBroker) expires at 12:10:27 AM on 2/25/2016.
Reason: Windows will execute 'NT TASK\Microsoft\Windows\Media Center\mcupdate_scheduled' scheduled task that requested waking the computer.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>

3. Start Task Scheduler and disable the task
Click on the Windows icon & type Task Scheduler.

4. Disable the Media Center mcupdate_scheduled task.

  • On the left pane, click on the Media Center folder.

  • In the middle pane, click on mcupdate_scheduled.

  • On the right pane, click Disable.
  • My Windows 10 computer wakes up at night automatically by itself.

How do I disable it from powering on?
I have been trying to upgrade the Chuwi Vi8 to Windows 10 and I am not successful. It stops on a lot of errors.

    I have the dual-boot (Windows 8.1 + Android) version.

Has anyone got this to work?
    When i type "cp /data/data/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM/lib/* /sdcard/emulated/data/data/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM/lib/"
It sends a message saying usage: bla bla bla which means, (at least what my knowledge says) that the command is incorrect.
    Any fixes ples?
I am trying to upgrade my HP Pavilion laptop to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and the Windows update burns high CPU.

The process is svchost.exe uses close to 100% cpu on this single core laptop. The hard drive light doesn't blink much at all. The fan is blowing loudly and is appears stuck at this stage for many hours.

This is preventing the computer from upgrading to Windows 10.
Windows shows the microSD card is write-protected. Data can still be read from this Patriot card, but no writes will work. If you open the explorer and delete the files, it looks like the deletes worked, but if you take the card out and put it back in, the files are still there. Likewise, if you copy files to the microSD card and replace the card or restart the computer, the new files are no where to be found. The card will also fail to format.

The manufacturer tells me to send the card in for them to replace, but I can not send it because it has source code on it. Manufacturers just don't understand that RMAs can not be done for storage devices with sensitive data that can still be retrieved. Instead the manufacturer says that they will take the card back to "rework" it, so it sounds like this problem can be fixed. Can the end user do it?

This is a microSD card so there is no LOCK switch.

I have tried the following things and nothing works.
    1. SD formatter
    2. Registry changes
    3. Partition changes with diskpart
    4. Active Killdisk

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Please make a video and post on youtube that will help us lot ?
The antivirus program found 6 viruses.

After that the upgrade to 8.1 worked.

Thanks for the tip. I got the 8.1 update going but it keeps falling partway through.
    that works!

    thanks!
There is no upgrade icon for my Windows 8 computer. Do I not qualify for the Windows 10 free upgrade?
Ok, guys I downloaded the rom from geekbuying and messed up my mk808b. It won't flash back to the old firmware and now no blue light and no picture.
    Is my tv stick dead?

    Help please!
I upgraded my Windows 7 computer to Windows 10 a couple days ago and it seemed to work fine. Then all of a sudden today when I turned on the computer it shows a boot screen with the MSI logo and keeps saying "Preparing automatic repair" and continues looping forever. Powering off and on the computer doesn't fix the problem.

    Any ideas?
