Here is the information about how to root your Alps T950S tablet. The same information here may also apply to other MediaTek tablets and related devices.

WARNING: You assume all risk for any changes to your Android tablet. Rooting your tablet may invalid any warranties from the manufacturer. Improper changes can damage or render your tablet unusable.

Steps to ROOT your tablet on a Windows 7 PC

1. Download the USB Driver for MediaTek devices.
We used the file usb_driver_MT65xx_Android_cepnoloji.rar mentioned in this Youtube video

2. Extract with WinRaR & install the driver from the rar file.
Note: The driver must be fully installed before proceeding to the next step. If the driver is not fully-installed, Kingo ROOT will not work.

3. Download and run Kingo ROOT Setup.
The filename is android_root.exe and can be pulled from the CNET link or
directly from the Kingo ROOT site.

4. Done!
You will probably need a terminal to poke around on the command-line. Our favorite is Terminal Emulator for Android from Jack Palevich available from the Google Play Store.
